Well, there are just no words for Desantis.  There are words but I don’t want to spend all day in a confession booth and I am not even Catholic.

DeSantis, had federal judges rule against him in his numerous anti-mask, anti-vax lawsuits, announced yesterday at a news conference,  that he intends to start penalizing Florida cities counties & businesses who require their employees to be vaccinated & fine them $5,000 per violation. He then warned those cities, counties & businesses, those fines can add up to millions of dollars. ….  Yes millions of dollars. www.tampabay.com/…

TALLAHASSEE — Gov. Ron DeSantis said Florida will fine local governments $5,000 for each employee who is required to be vaccinated, threatening some cities and counties with millions of dollars in penalties for adopting strict vaccine “mandates.”

During a Monday news conference in Alachua County, DeSantis vowed to fight that city’s requirement that employees be vaccinated by the end of the month or be fired.

“We are not going to let people get fired because of the vaccine mandate,” DeSantis said. “You don’t just cast aside people who have been serving faithfully over this issue, over what’s basically a personal choice over their individual health.”

I wonder how long it will be before we start getting fined for wearing masks.  I know the First Responders have been told not to wear masks.

Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods announced this week that his deputies — save for those in schools, hospitals, the jail and the courthouse — were not to mask up on duty. He even banned visitors to his agency’s offices from wearing masks, as the Ocala Star-Banner first reported, but later walked that back.

Georgia is as bad as Florida it seems as just about everyone I know up there has Covid, getting over Covid, or just tested positive.  I know a lot of people in Ga.   Their governor is not as vocal as Desantis but then again we know Desantis is running for president.

Look, I hope this goes somewhere.

TALLAHASSEE — Federal education authorities on Friday opened an investigation into Florida’s attempts to block mask mandates in local schools, marking the latest dust up between the Biden administration and Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis over Covid-19 policies.

The U.S. Department of Education’s civil rights office is probing Florida over a contentious state rule that requires all schools to grant parents the ability to opt their children out of wearing masks, claiming that it could violate the rights of students with disabilities.

Please don’t say “Oh well it’s Floiduh.  Many Many good opposers of Desantis are being affected.  If something isn’t done about DeSantis, you may just be looking at your next president, and yes people are that ignorant all over and not just Florida.

Want to know something, I wonder if Florida was rigged for Mr. Former Guy?  I mean, you holler Voter Fraud but it is the republicans who have to cheat to win and by the way Trump, he is whipping your ass in the news...I guess you are old news.  How does your ego manage that?

Opinion: Watch out, Donald Trump. Ron DeSantis is on the rise.

It’s widely assumed that the 2024 Republican presidential nomination is Donald Trump’s if he wants it. That may be, but Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s rapid rise calls that into question.

DeSantis is quickly becoming the first choice among conservatives willing to look beyond Trump. He has impeccable pro-Trump credentials, winning a fierce GOP gubernatorial primary in 2018 in part by receiving Trump’s endorsement and by almost comically running as his acolyte. His leadership during the pandemic, which attracted regular criticism from the media for keeping Florida too open, endeared him to many on the right. His recent effort to regulate social media has kept his name in the limelight and touched a chord among ardent conservatives.
