Cheri Blair, my son’s former fiance’ was shot six times in the back of the head by being in the wrong place at the wrong time over in Alabama. She and my son had broken up and she had gone to Alabama for the last six months of her life and wound up with some wrong way people. A revenge killing on someone she was living with was killed execution style along with her. No Justice has ever prevailed over this matter. She was just deemed as a poor, uneducated person with an addiction.
Felons had guns.. They obtained those guns legally. This was in 2004.
2010 my husband lost his first born son to suicide and he had mental health problems. He obtained a gun legally and took his life. This was in Michigan. He had shown signs of depression and other problems which a good bill and restriction may have stopped that shooting. He may have committed suicide anyway but it would not have been by gun.
Thank you Congressman Lewis and fellow Democrats for standing strong against gun violence. Many of us have suffered losses that should not have happened. We have to pass a drivers test.
We have to register our vehicles. We have to register to go to school… Why are military weapons allowed to be carried and used by people who should not have them? There are many people who have lost so much to gun violence.
