OK. I am confused. Is he giving a SOTU address and when did things get safer for such an event?

I am reading different things from different sources and CNN is reporting that Speaker Pelosi has invited him to speak.  When did the government reopen?  We know the State of the Union.  It is a mess.   

What could he possibly say other than ramble about an unecessary wall, an obstructive democratic party ( rolls eyes) and other ramblings of confusion and chaos?

I read this communication  written, whereas he even calls the Speaker, Nancy in his communication with her.  He does not address her as Speaker.  I always remember him saying Speaker Ryan.  Why would she sit there behind this piece of trash calling himself President with 800,000 not working or NOT getting paid?  

I read about a possible CR but that is no answer.  It just takes us right back to this spot in two weeks.  

There are people hurting and people in a state of confusion trying to decide between cancer treatments and rent?  This man does not need a platform.  He does not need to stand up in Congress with an address to the nation when the nation is falling apart and he accepts no responsibility.

Other countries are questioning why we the American people are standing still for this.  I am confused.

After a week of tit for tat with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, amid a monthlong government shutdown, the White House is now moving ahead with plans for the president's State of the Union address, proceeding as if it were happening as originally planned next week.

White House officials are aiming for the speech to occur before a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, Jan. 29. But it is far from guaranteed. The House must pass a resolution to call a joint session with the Senate before the president can come speak.

It's unclear whether that will happen; Pelosi hasn't yet weighed in on whether she will allow it

Which is it?  I am very confused and extremely disgusted.  I passed embarrased several months ago.

Can someone in the House just shut off the lights and say closed until further notice.  We don’t need to waste money on the light bill while so many are hurting.
