More Truth as I see it about our reality and please tell me if we can ever change it.

The comment was taken from Ursula’s diary and became so long, I decided to diary it.  The debate is about how 45 could get re elected.

There are many reasons he could get re elected and none of them speak well of this USA.

Civics is not taught anymore, so lack of education is some of it.

Laziness..yes laziness.   People do not want to read.  They rather be spoon fed whatever is being dished out on the tube and facebook and other social media.  They don’t want to research on their own.

Most people including us will repeat what the media  is rallying around.   Michelle Obama was morally right but politically wrong about the high road.  The old if it bleeds, it leads is still the story that gets aired.  I am as guilty as anyone about the rally of media reporting.  We all get to be critics and anchors for the immediate news cycles.  

The media chooses the villains.  Why do they choose?  They know that entertainment gets the views.    People want to be entertained.  My thought is they had rather be entertained than informed.  ( that might could make a good tee shirt slogan).

I have said for years and years and years...Dancing with the Stars and the Kardashians viewer knew more about those shows than their own reality of life.   I want my President to be smarter than me but waaay too many want to be able to connect to their hero of the moment, who can cuss, fuss, yell and be as obnoxious as they are.  This is Donald Trump.  He is the king of deplorable.

 Look how much airplay “ We are going to impeach the MF” is getting and this is nothing new.  Cheney and many more have cussed out members right there on the floor of congress.   When Alan Grayson said what all were thinking, he got pounded as a bully.   Americans grab popcorn and watch their own life getting pounded in a political WWE  or modern day Gladiator match.

Someone said, “ People like to watch disaster”  Well, they do.

Look how many rubberneckers slow down to peek at a car wreck.  Look how many reporters run to a mass shooting.  Look how many of us, yes us as well are glued to the media and infighting right on televison and how many times did the media replay two planes crashing into the twin towers?  Look how few recs are given to people who write achievements of candidates, right here on DK compared to some disaster or drama happening at the same time.

We had better government before there was so much exposure to the opinion and talkers.   Look at how many people watch Cspan compared to Fox and Friends and CNN and MSNBC for news.  There is so much opinion out there, there is chaos and people would tune out Walter Cronkite and Huntley-Brinkley in today’s world.

Stick to the news and leave opinions aside.  Make Americans think again.

I have walked extensively through the studio at CSpan and saw the tons of books in a private office of Brian Lamb.  Brian Lamb and staff study guests and is IMO, brilliant.   He knows that people will take CSpan footage and topics at certain places and run with the footage and then the media will have a field day.  I think CSpan was initially invented for an informed electorate but that is not what big business and Cable outlets use the footage for.  Please think what CSpan stands for.

 I went to the House of Representatives and sat up in the observation section and only saw Barbara Lee working.  I wish that Cspan would show how empty that balcony is until a real Game of Thrones of playing to the cameras is up for debate and then the protestors are packed into the chamber.   Look at the cameras packed in for Supreme Court nominations, arguing, and anything divisive.

 I have seen how they don’t opine and how many televisions and newscasts are set up in their control rooms.  All cable News is running in the Cspan studios.  They  take the cameras into a venue and let people decide but the people who grab that footage are the Cable and Satellite companies who then bring in their so called experts to tell people what to think and basically character assassinate and then it goes further into the local churches, etc.  Is CSpan the problem?  No.  CSpan opens up the cameras and allow people to peek inside the workings of government.  It is all part of the big money machine of so called News that has created the reality we now have.

The problem is not that information is not out there.  The problem is people find the footage of day to day government boring and do not have patience to watch more than soundbytes and a few hell raising moments on the congressional floor including the supreme court nominees where they know the reality show continues.  Who fills the gap of entertainment and chaos?  Donald J. Trump.  I would love to hear wall to wall coverage on new bridges and rapid transist.  I would love to hear about breakthroughs in the medical field, higher wagers, and an answer to climate change.  That is boring to MSM.

Many people who vote  are not informed from what the reality is but what they are entertained by and yes it is charisma and acting.  They love to live vicariously through other people.   This is the whole problem.  Nobody wants to search out truth via books and non opinionated government doings.   They don’t study history.  They want to stream in the excitement and forget the rest.  I watched with intensity of Barbara Lee, a Kossack here, work alone on the congress floor and because there was no big fight going on in congress, my family was alone in the balcony for more than 4 minutes.   People would come in , sit down and then get up and move on.  

 Barbara was working..and working it appeared alone to introduce and debate with one other person a bill before congress.    It was fascinating to me but boring to other people.  This is why many tune into the Superbowl.. Not for the game but the ads and halftime show.   Go ahead, believe it is not about entertainment, but it truly is.  

 Trump as president feeds adrenaline addicts.   The media is the trough from which he feeds from.   It’s Romper Room.  The media has turned government  into Romper Room and children across America..I mean grown children like us sit in front of the tube or radio for hours and are entertained by either cheering or are worked up by what we see in a rage.   Me included.   How many people actually attend their own local government meetings?  No cameras.  How many people actually want to believe what is really happening and not what someone tells them is happening.  Messaging is everything as long as it draws a crowd and media attention.  You can take that truth as I see it to the bank.  

We are in a paradox.  I could have saved all of these words and just said, “ We in the United States of America are living in a paradox.
