I know someone and I don’t like him at all. Part of his living is made by buying and selling guns. No
background checks. Nada.
It is perfectly legal for a total stranger to buy or own a gun and sell it to a perfect stranger. The federal law says they cannot be a felon or must be 18 years of age but if there is only a drivers license who knows who the gun is going to? Is it going out of state? Is it going to someone who has just got out of jail? If money and a DL exchange is all you have, then it is very dangerous. Oh the buyer would never lie about being ineligible now would they? The seller doesn’t care. It’s about making a few bucks.
Here is what I found about the gun laws in Florida.
Rule #1 - Identification Requirements
In Florida private gun sales, The buyer and the seller must possess a valid government issued ID from the State of Florida.
Rule #2 - Minimum Age Requirements
In Florida private gun sales, the buyer must meet the minimum age requirement for the firearm type being transferred.
Here are the age requirements:
Pistol / Revolver - 21
Shotgun (No Shoulder Stock) - 21
Shotgun (w/ Shoulder Stock) - 18
Rifle - 18
Rules #3 - Is the buyer a prohibited person?
In Florida private gun sales, to the best of the seller's knowledge, the buyer must not be prohibited from possessing a firearm. To learn more about prohibited persons read my other article "AM I ELIGIBLE" SAME RULES APPLY...
So when it comes to selling a gun in Florida, that's it!
Last night at Walmart a person shot through the back of a truck at the local Walmart in this small town.
Unbelievable and I feel there has to be something done about how easy it is to buy and sell guns privately in Florida.
Total insanity. You can get a gun in Florida easier than you could buy a beer,
The way I see it is that if you have a drivers license and go down to the DMV for a state issue Id, you can buy a gun and kill someone.
