Let’s have a little fun. First of all I can’t even imagine him allowing a get together with more artists than Taylor Swift and maybe the Gatlin Brothers with an audience of maybe 200 people. Can you see him losing his mind completely over 500,000 people with 60 toilets in a rainy area in the most unlikely peaceful gathering ever known to this country like what happened in 1969? Can you imagine 500,000 non billionaires rushing to Florida and setting up camp and staying rain or shine and blaring music for peace and love? Wow….it is thoughts like this that make me smile with just the thought of it. This would solve I believe the MAGA cult. Concerts galore nationwide with hundreds of thousands of young people getting their message across like magic through music. They say music heals the soul, it just might heal a nation.
I did not go to Woodstock but I know a few who did and what do you think Old Ron would do if 500,000 young people descended on Florida full of energy, hormones, musical instruments and basically took over? He can’t even deal with Disney World.
I think about this is and smile. I think he would run out of the state with hair or fire and yelling for the National Guard. Maybe we know a way to rid us of this menace of a governor but Woodstock could not be duplicated...the idea still is tempting. Music ...Free music in rural areas with hundreds of thousands of young people gathering to stop the nonsense of what is happening today.
Let’s look back and see what would happen to the Marjorie Green’s and Desantis and the Governance of today in 2023 would do in a 1969 do over best as possible. Forget the petitions and marches...Have a concert. Lots of concerts with lots of young people. Of course we didn’t have mass shootings back then...but we still had crazies.
He can’t handle Jimminy Cricket and When you wish upon a star and Disney costumes… No problem there. At Woodstock...People ..many were naked. Not a stitch. This just may be the way to fight the MAGA cult…..peacefully. It would not be a Woodstock but it could be a musical revolution of sorts.
Can you imagine? The only thing they might like is The Star Spangled Banner played by Jimi Hendrix but he was black, set the guitar on fire and played it non traditionally so even that would be a no go for this bunch. Take a look and read and tell me what you think would happen?
Woodstock was an opportunity for people to escape into music and spread a message of unity and peace. Although the crowd at Woodstock experienced bad weather, muddy conditions and a lack of food, water and adequate sanitation, the overall vibe there was harmonious
There were 109 arrest out of 500,000 people. That is almost unbelievable considering the drugs and all that was present but still, what are you gonna do about 500,000 people?
At the conclusion of the event, now known by all as Woodstock, the State Police was able to report that the music festival, which was billed as an event of peace and music, was simply that. No use of force was shown by State Police and only 109 arrest were made on the property.
1969: Billed as “An Aquarian Exposition: 3 Days of Peace and Music”, a music festival held on a 600 acre dairy farm in Bethel, Sullivan County, drew 450,000 fans for 32 different music acts. Initial estimates projected 20,000 to 150,000 concert goers, though State Police estimated that 200,000 made it to the venue while another 250,000 were in the vicinity unable to reach the amphitheater.
The State Police began early planning for the event and initially thought the concert would be held in Wallkill. Three weeks prior to the start of the concert, the promoters had to obtain a new site due to court action. In three weeks, the State Police was able to establish a plan for the handling of traffic in Bethel, including a one way flow of traffic. These plans collapsed on the eve of the concert. Shuttle service, which the promoters planned on using, was cancelled by the promoters because of cost, as was the agreement between the promoters and off-duty New York City Police Officers. Further, the promoters failed to establish any signage to direct traffic coming into the area. Security within the grounds at the festival was to be the responsibility of the promoters as well.
On the first day of the festival, it was estimated that 100,000 persons arrived by auto, creating a traffic condition defined as chaotic. Troop F assigned a detail of 85 Troopers to address the concern. Cars were abandoned on the road causing all roads to be closed but to local traffic only.
Day two and day three allowed for the addition of 70 Troopers from Troops C, G, and K to assist with crowd control. State Police utilized helicopters to move Troopers within closed off areas and to get food and water to Troopers when posts were not accessible by vehicle. At the conclusion of the event, now known by all as Woodstock, the State Police was able to report that the music festival, which was billed as an event of peace and music, was simply that. No use of force was shown by State Police and only 109 arrest were made on the property. Of those arrests, only four were for violations aside from illegal drugs.
I personally think young people need to give this idea some thought. Set up music with hundreds of thousands of people taking their message of love and peace to the louspeakers and dance their way to freedom. Make Love...Not war. Wasn’t that the saying back then?
