Well shut my mouth, pick my jaw off the floor and call me stupid but this I never knew. I guess hunters know this. Who goes hunting with an AR15 first of all because there would be nothing left to eat or frame but all these hunters who say they need the 2nd amendment for hunting and by the way when was the last time you saw a deer or squirrel or bear roaming on aisle 3 of Walmart or in a classroom?

Hunter Education Deferral (cost: $10)
Allows a person 17 years of age or older who has not completed a hunter education program to defer completion for up to one year. A deferral may only be obtained once and is only valid until the end of the current license year. A person who has been convicted or has received deferred adjudication for violation of the mandatory hunter education requirement is prohibited from applying for a deferral. Take the course by August 31 of the current license year and receive a $5 discount.

Let me wrap my brain around this. You cannot go into a hunting area without background and training to just look for wildlife and this includes bow hunting but you can buy a gun and slaughter families.
Texas seems not to have a problem with educating would be hunters buying guns but buying a gun for sport of killing humans ...No questions asked. So regulation is not a problem….I have no other answer than only regulate a gun if you plan on shooting a bear. This is totally illogical to me.

Education on self-defense laws, how to de-escalate arguments, and the risks associated with children and people with suicidal thoughts accessing firearms are essential knowledge for gun owners.
