TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- A gun owner currently carrying a firearm in Florida also needs to carry a license with them while possessing the weapon.
According to the Florida Department of Agriculture, which oversees the license program, the state of Florida currently leads the nation with more than two million concealed weapon license holders.
Constitutional carry was one of several topics Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said he'd like to see discussed in the upcoming Florida Legislature special session, which he called for last week to sort out the redrawn redistricting maps that he vetoed.
Of course DeSantis wants to discuss it. Enough people were not killed by firearms and covid already in Florida.
"If somebody wants to carry a firearm for their own self-defense, they shouldn't have to beg government permission and pay money for the exercise of their fundamental God-given right," said Sabatini, who represents District 32 in Central Florida.
What a dumbass. Not everyone wants to carry for their own defense, that is what regulation and permitting is about. Oh and I don’t remember God putting pistol packing in the 10 commandments so no it is not a God given right Sabatini. Please tell me what part of the bible you got that crap idea?

Now I have a lot of problems with this statement and him in general but let us take this one statement Sabatini made.
People should not have to beg government permission and pay money…
What about a woman’s right to choose? This is about her body and family.
What about government deciding how big a fish I can catch or where I can fish or if I can fish.
What about where my child attends school or if I want an ignorant kid, why I have to send them to school at all?
How about my speed? If I want to go 5 miles over the speed limit why should government dictate my speed on a road?
How about what books I can read or what teachers can teach?
How dare you not be able to put shutters on your house without a permit in Florida? Or a 200 dollar permit for building a doghouse or putting up a fence in Florida?
How come I have to check with the government and pay money to have a business?
I can think of a hundred and one things the government dictates and makes me pay money for that I think is unfair but not being able to carry a gun without regulation and permit is not one of them. Where are my rights to feel safe or relatively safe when I walk outside my door. I have to be afraid some nut with an issue with his partner or boss may just start shooting at everyone. Are they mentally competent to carry a gun without knowing even how to aim it?

Oh and he has filed lawsuits against mask mandates and he was thinking of challenging Webster in my district but redistricting stopped that...Thank God...Then I would be all in his face to the point of challenging every word or even heckling. ( I would have ended up in jail ) So glad he changed his mind.

OMG...There is so much more on this guy. He is an interloper from New York with extreme racist ideas. He is extreme period. I correct myself. His parents were interlopers and I bet they are proud of him. He was a baby when they moved here but he sure is racist. I guess the southern strategy is not just in the south. Hate is everywhere. Just bolder in the south I think.
Ain’t he a peach? These are the kind of people running in 2022. Not just in Florida but all over. Expect it and we have to stop them by putting up good candidates and then voting for that good candidate. What we have now is bad, what we are liable to get is worse if that even possible.
Oh did you hear DeSantis said if Stacey Abrams becomes Gov of Ga Florida will declare a cold war.
