We have a pandemic raging through the country. People are committing suicides at rates never before. We have rights being taken away via the republican lies and the weather is unbelievable. Families are divided, people are angry and we are less than a candle on a hill much less a beacon.
This country is falling into the pits and yet the richest of the rich got richer during the pandemic. Seems like the wheels of justice always turned slowly but it seems to have stopped. Some of us are locked down and trying to stay upbeat but after two and a half years and financial ruin, an insurrection, hate and racism everywhere. Tell me folks...as down as this post seems, it is a reality. To think otherwise is foolish. There are so many people living and dying alone. So many people are in chaos and we need some serious doings but what? No one seems to know what to do except hope tomorrow will be better.
Is it just me or is life getting harder and harder especially for our elderly and young ones? One man gathered a bunch of simple, easily led ignorant people to form an army of hate and division.
My parents told me that only the strong survive. How strong are we? I am not writing this as a downer...I really want to know. Where do we go from here? Where is common sense? Where is all things are possible with such hate and division prevailing? What do people who want to stop democracy hope to gain? Have we come to a point where we can not only not lead, but not govern ourselves? We voted for President Biden but the legislative body is almost dead in it’s tracks.
I feel no one should take up any legislation or anything else done in congress and no going home until we hammer the voting rights till we wear the objectors down.
Schumer talked about the hostage situation, and I am sorry. It;s over for now and this voting thing should be top priority and the pandemic. I hate the media jumps from one subject to another. The voting rights more than any other legislation needs to be a broken record. Over and Over and over. Not just this week. Not just this day. Until we get this thing done. Every former president needs to come out and speak against the do nothing Senators.
I guess our lives be laid upon the table. Break the rules and hold the floor on debate.
