We have all talked about needing to get a message out and louder to combat the right wing media misinformation outlets. We do have one answer although not the only one but a big one. First of all I do not work for Daily Kos and have no monetary interest in this post or in any other way. I am just concerned. I get emails from DK regularly as many of you do, but this one caught my eye,
Now, Markos may take this down but I feel strongly about this email because what Kos wrote is so very true. We need good messaging and strong and loud messaging because who knows what we are facing and we need this site.
Here is some of what caught my eye.
You were probably hoping to catch a break this year. (I was!) But then came the insurrection, the conspiracy theories, the mainstreaming of the anti-vaxx movement (hey, thanks, Fox!), and a long, hard slog for Democrats to pass their agenda through a Congress they control by razor-thin majorities—with incorregible Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema creating havoc every step of the way. It's been a long year, but our work is not yet over. The fanatical white supremecist mob that brought Trump into office has grown larger. Republicans have wholeheartedly embraced the Big Lie. Facebook allows disinformation to spread like wildfire.

Look, you may say, Daily Kos has plenty. No they don’t. Many of us take this place for granted. We think it will always be here but the stronger the crazy gets, we need to be in a financial place to get as strong or stronger or we will regret this come 2022 and 2024.
We are in a war against misinformation and failing democracy depending on all us that believe in reality and ideas to save ourselves. We have good people here with good ideas and opinions but let us look at the other side. They have huge donors and billionaires spreading lies and holding democracy by a thread and we need strong advocacy and voices to be spread to cancel the misinformation. It costs a lot of money to have a site such as this. It is crunch time. We need our voices heard and that is becoming more difficult with people like the fringe holding rallies and saying things like a good democrat is a dead one. Yes they really say these things.
We need to bond together and stay respectful but we need to do more. We need to be able to fight back peacefully through this site. We need to stay focused . Dissent from the Big Lie is becoming harder . The lies are being spread from pulpits to rallies and we need to speak up and often. We need to find dems to run against the minority and the majority in many red states. We need to preserve democracy and we need to fund this site. We do get heard at this place.
We need to make an effort to rec up democrats running against the republicans running in every state who are becoming more and more fringe. To rec a post endorsing these people running, we need a site to do it from. I want to challenge all who enjoy posting here to give. It’s not like I am asking you to go to war physically. I am asking you to not delete the plea from the email from Markos and pledge to give what you can. I am on a fixed income but I will give what I can.
I think the staff and owner knows what we are up against. People who disagree with the Big Lie and supporters of Democrats are facing challenges we have never experienced if they take over in 2022 and 2024. We also need to stay informed with real confirmed truths that one gets here.
I HAVE SAID MESSAGING NEEDS TO BE STRONGER. WELL STRONGER REQUIRES FUNDING.
