I wanted to personally thank all of you for your generosity during the lawyer hunt for our great grandaughter.
There is not much of an update other than an attorney was retained and we are holding about 5K in reserve for any motions and filings that may be needed and I know from experience, there will be.
We raised half of our goal but maybe we won’t need anymore. The stress from the grandmother has been beyond belief. The court date for them is set July 14th and how it could go ongoing is beyond my comprehension after she made a trip to several county jails and the information obtained was absolutely sickening.
41 arrests in 10 years. 41 !!!!! with 20 incarcerations and there is still one more county where records will be obtained. I know for a fact he has at least 10 to 15 arrests in that county. That man is just ridiculous and had he been black he would already be beat to death. His white privilege has given him another day of walking around being a menace to society.
The child is not his. We counted back the days and he was most definately incarcerated when the mother conceived. He is an abuser of not only drugs but domestic violence and it is all in his records.
The court date is in two weeks but in the meantime we have lost all communication with out great granddaughter..so has all on the maternal side of the family. Georgia is a backwards state in the rural area but we can hope for justice. We can hope. It costs money and money none of us have and we are still grieving over losing Brandy. You all have made breathing a little easier knowing we collected a little over 10 K which over 4 K was used on the attorney right off the bat.
They never lived together much and do not know why she never divorced that worthless white trash who is just a methhead and junkie. This should never even required a court action. Common sense should have prevailed. If it were me, I would sue the police dept that walked in and took that child without a court order or pick up order from a judge. The police are there to enforce the law , not interpret it. He had a birth certificate that he signed and the Mother was not married to him at the time of the birth. He had nothing but a B/C. If they had checked her social security card they would have found her under another name. Right now it is about getting that child back into a stable, familiar surrounding and then they should report to someone the actions of that police dept. They never even ran a background check on the felon. I don’t get it.
We are in Florida and everyday I am in touch with the grandmother who raised the 10 year old since she was two and she is broken but everyday we gather the evidence and turn it over to the attorney, it saves money and that is what has been done for about a month now.
I want to thank all of you and hope we have enough to get that child where she belongs. She does not belong with a convicted felon who is violent. I don’t even know if I believe in justice anymore. I know we were told one time years and years ago, “How much justice can you afford”? I don’t think he can afford much. Thanks to you all, I think we can afford more than him.
I have told the grandmother, that little girl is going to need a lot of therapy. She will be very confused and angry and be ready for not getting the same sweet child back which I know will happen. I will keep you all updated.
The 4th is never a good time for combat vets and this year is especially hard for my Vet.
Thank again and Happy 4th. I will keep you updated. I hope this is not dragged out.
