There is a lot to this story but it boils down to one thing, disrespect and unpatriotic.
The legs were returned...unadjusted and unuseable.
I know and many vets know there are hoops to jump through but many get tired of waiting for permission to do things like walk without falling. Little things like, eating and having a roof over your head because service connected injuries and disability claims sit on some pencil pusher’s desk and many vets nor I just cannot grasp the lack of common sense , compassion and civility.
I could write an entire book on what nonsense I have gone through this week with the effects of war trauma and the MIC money machine from useless wars. I was ready to throw in the towel on helping vets because of some vets who still support republicans who claim to love America but clearly hate Americans. I also have seen the effect of the pounding of wardrums and what it has done to PTSD vets and families this week. Many are suffering but not all support this administration and lack of compassion as I went hunting today to find some real disgusting news and Veterans Against Trump .
I was really ready to throw in the towel. I was so stressed...( I really need a vacation). I mostly just go researching and that is what I did.
xA decorated military veteran who served in Vietnam and Iraq has claimed that his prosthetic legs were taken away after the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) would not cover the cost.
Jerry Holliman, 69, told the Clarion Ledger that he was in his room at the Veterans Home in Collins, Mississippi just a couple days before Christmas when a man walked in and took away his prosthetic limbs. According to Holliman, the VA said it would not cover the cost of the limbs, while Medicare said there'd be a copay required.
Just got a photo from Jerry Holliman’s son. Here’s Jerry with his legs back. Jerry says they still need adjusting. pic.twitter.com/hEBWyp8Owx

Since the vet did not obtain his legs from the VA….there was a big hassle over paying for them but maybe the vet got tired of waiting and maybe the VA said they would pay and it would take a congressperson to get them to do so. Who knows? Common sense says no vet should have their legs taken away twice. Once on the battlefield and another time in a hospital.
Above is a tweet from former republican Amash stating what ever other person should know before voting these characters back into office. I don’t think the majority of vet supporters know this. They believe the BS or it doesn’t register with his word salad of what he is saying. Troops really should know this. I get tired of explaining how Trump did not start the Choice program but Obama did.
Veterans' Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act of 2014
Full title To improve the access of veterans to medical services from the Department of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes. Introduced in 113th United States Congress Introduced on October 2, 2013 Trump said he passed a private-sector health care program, Veterans Choice, after failed attempts by past presidents for the last “45 years.” That’s not true. The Choice program, which allows veterans to see doctors outside the government-run VA system at taxpayer expense, was first passed in 2014 under President Barack Obama.
Trump’s VA secretary, Robert Wilkie, also is distorting the facts. Faulting previous “bad leadership” at VA, Wilkie suggested it was his own efforts that improved waiting times at VA medical centers and brought new offerings of same-day mental health service. The problem: The study cited by Wilkie on wait times covers the period from 2014 to 2017, before Wilkie took the helm as VA secretary. Same-day mental health services at VA were started during the Obama administration

— Wesley Duncan 🌹 (@WesleyDuncan3) January 8, 2020He sells troops.“We have a very good relationship with Saudi Arabia—I said, listen, you’re a very rich country. You want more troops? I’m going to send them to you, but you’ve got to pay us. They’re paying us. They’ve already deposited $1B in the bank.†pic.twitter.com/rc1f7heyCP
— Justin Amash (@justinamash) January 11, 2020So if troops are being sold to the highest bidding country and veterans can’t afford working legs, where is the money going? Why is this not news?
I swear I need a vacation. I wish I could afford it. I am very tired of debunking lies and falsehoods and have helped more vets than this stolen valor non serving delusional orange man has ever considered doing and I am just a vetwife...not even a vet. Unlike Trump I am patriotic, and don’t make money to help troops or vets. I don’t like being called a terrorist synpathizer from a man from my homestate and no I don’t accept your lame apology.
ONE MORE THING ! Vote Blue, no matter who…
