I have always been against guns at school. I am against arming anyone who walks school grounds. I heard this horrific news this morning and it sent a chill up my spine.
This Resource officer in Florida just shot and killed his wife, children and self in Florida.
According to Sheriff Chad Chronister, the deputy, — identified as Terry Strawn, 58 — killed two family members. They included an adult female and a female child at one location in Plant City, and an adult female at another location in Plant City.
The victims were identified as Theresa Strawn, 54, Courtney Strawn, 32, and Londyn Strawn, 6.
xChronister said the deputy retired a couple of years ago, but came back to help with school security issues.

I think we need an all out campaign to stop this arming teachers and resource officers who obviously can’t protect their own emotions or families.
Don’t tell me only right wingers homeschool their kids. I have done it after all the mass shootings and after Newtown. There has to be some resolve on all of this gun violence with our precious resources being so called protected by unhinged people with a badge and gun.
In Georgia, a former police officer became a teacher , then principal, only to make children’s lives miserable to eventually lose his third job after sexual assault. He is now on the Sexual Predator list. I fought his employment tooth and nail as I had two kids at the time in High School, where he was the boss. Well he is out of there now. This is not about him though, this is just an example of why as I have observed, former police officers make terrible school employees, in my opinion.
