Well, we ain’t gonna let those republican jackasses call us Snowflakes because of rain and storms are we? Hell no. They would trot their soggy bottoms out to the polls if it was raining bowling balls. Think about that a minute. Never let it leave your mind and don’t you leave your spot without someone standing in for you.
This is for the drivers, the volunteers and the late voters who are planning on voting and helping Tuesday. We have us a little front moving in come Tuesday and that had better energize us even more. I can just hear old Pat Robertson now. God has chosen to show America that we have a true gift with President Trump and our republican legislators. He will show democrats that they are not chosen. Do you want to hear that blasted everywhere? Bless his heart. Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta and southward to Macon along with Huntsville and Birmingham and eastward through the Carolinas, all the way up the Ohio valley is supposed to be raining and storming. The front is to move in Monday and progress through election day.
Now is the time to think and plan on that day of bad weather. Find you an umbrella, a pair of thick socks, a raincoat or water repellent jacket, some gloves if necessary and march to those polls and show the republicans we can take the weather. We can weather the storm for democracy AS GOOD if NOT BETTER than them. We don’t get rainchecks for elections or democracy and we sure don’t get do overs. The election will not be called due to rain and the lines will still be there if we GOTV. We are in a war, people. We fire our shots with pen, ballot paper or pulling the lever but make no mistake about it...It is war and you can’t just quit when we are this close and hope someone else will drag us over the finish line. Find that babysitter now folks. Older folks...I hope you already voted but if you didn’t ..think standing in line to vote is better than standing in line for food or medication or a greeting job at Walmart when the republicans cut that social security and medicare. Somewhere in America, there is a crying child in a cage depending on you.
I sincerely hope that some volunteers will think to bring some large sheets of plastic and people can hold it over their heads. If they don’t then go visit a Winn Dixie or Walmart or any grocery store and pick up one of those rain head covers. Do that now. Don’t wait for the rain to come down.
This is like a little ole tug of war in a sense. Fix yourself up to be weather resistent. It might get windy...turn your backs to the wind….Cover yourself...My thought is republicans will leave the line if it starts storming. Maybe they will and maybe they won’t but SNOWFLAKES WE AIN’T. Through, wind and rain and humdity and fog, WE WILL RESIST and STAND IN LINE.
If the storms come through… HOLD THAT LINE. Volunteers, don’t wimp out now.
We need a steady stream of pickup and drop off. Think how many people would stand in line for a concert, or a Football game or Baseball ticket. THIS IS a whole lot more important.
Now think of yourself in the WAR FOR THE VOTE. Mother Nature, due to climate change ain’t making this baby any brighter but if you want the sun to come out Wednesday, don’t give up. We have worked too hard, too long and suffered too much. Time to take the trash out at the polls and don’t let some weather bad as it might get and it is aiming for the south and midwest...take us to a place we don’t want to go. Buckle up Warriors.. Not only have we got to fight the damn nazis and thieves and liars, but the weather as well. The weather we can handle. I have confidence we can outlast the republicans. Make it so.
Now you southern folks...eat a good breakfast and pretend you are at a Woodstock festival or what it really is...A FRIGGIN WAR and stamina against fascism. Don’t get your drawers all in a wad and say, “ this ain’t worth it”… Because It damn sure is. I think for the most part the rain will be off and on. Whatever the weather brings, it sure beats losing a lot of freedoms, losing health care, going back in the closet, having the 14th amendment revisited, no oversight, more gerrymandering, and sitting in the back of the bus or having your head busted open like John Lewis did. Think about that for a minute. Try the buddy system...to get someone to stand for you and switch off. It will be worth it.
Remember..we can’t have a wave without getting wet.
