Time to thank the men who stand with Dr. Ford and other abused women .

So many times, people get broadstroked and that is wrong.   When terrible things happen to certain folks, whether it be gender related, race related or anything else that we feel folks cannot identify with,  does not mean many don’t stand behind the right side of history and life in general.  It doesn’t mean they are not angry at how victims are treated.

It is time to thank men who are standing up and feeling empathy for those of us who have been sexually assaulted.   You don’t have to be sexually assaulted to feel for those who have been, although men have been taken advantage of as well in these type of abuses.

Gender related traumas sometimes get polarizing and that is not right.  There are many good men and right here on this site and living around us and all across the nation appalled at how Dr. Ford and Anita Hill and millions of women have been and are treated when abused.

I can say personally and speaking for myself, but maybe others as well, that when a woman has been traumaized in this manner, it is a flash point in many areas of her life.  I am sure it is the same for men.   Old hurting, feelings and anxiety boil to the top when we see this kind of thing play out in real life, especially in the year 2018.  It reminds me of the feelings some veterans get when an unexpected fire cracker goes off, or helicopters flying too low...and imagine that happening every single day every which way you look.  It would put many in the hospital.   PTSD is very real and just when you think it is under control, the anger and feelings pop up just like it was happening all over again..whatever the trauma.  PTSD does not have an expiration date.

Dr. Ford has phycology degrees  and she knew coming forward would thrust many into a bad situation and it took bravery to come forward knowing that not only was she taking risks for her family and self but many who have suffered abuse.   She really had to believe she had to do what was best for America despite the pain.    THIS WAS BRAVE.  She wanted to empower others to speak up against such life changing behaviors and not reward the alleged rapist with the highest court in the land.

Many women do not have a clue what a helpless, hopeless feeling sex abuse victims feel from time to time, or lack to feel  or to trust, just like most men do not know BUT they are here.  They are standing with the victims and it is time to say, “ Thank You”.  Thank you for seeing our tears, our anger, our fear, our vulnerability and our hurt.  Thank you.  This is so much bigger than a political party.   It is control and bullying and those old hurts boiling over again.  This is about right and wrong.  This is about innocence and credible allegations and life changing events.

Not all wars are on the battlefield, some are of the heart and mind and very soul of a nation.

Thank you Gentlemen who stand for right.  Thank you ladies who never experienced sexual assault who stand with victims.   Please, let us be thankful, there are still some real courageous gentlemen anxious to see change and restore civility and hormonal responsibility.
