This is getting so tiresome and not just from me. Jax Dem and other Florida Kossacks have said the same thing and those who work our butts off down here in Florida, only to have some commenters on here tear us down at almost every Florida post.
WE DID NOT VOTE for Rick Scott but are constantly told we deserve the hate and suffering we receive here. This is getting beyond old. It is discouraging and it is mean. We don’t hear, “ Oh, we will come down and help you out” or “ Good job” or even, “ You sure got your work cut out”. NO… We hear..”We feel sorry for the wildlife or the people of Florida deserves what it gets”.
This is straight up division and depressing. I am a fighter. I fight for what I believe are progressive values and yet some of the same people who are supposed to be empathetic try to humiliate and break us. It needs to be stopped.
The rhetoric needs to stop blaming Florida because not all of Florida approves of what we have and work hard day in and day out and this kind of broadstroking is hurting our causes and progress. We are down here fighting with one hand tied behind our backs because we are not even sure our votes mean much when we go to the polls, for THOSE ALLOWED TO VOTE. Keep in mind, all those that have been incarcerated and paid their debt to society have not had voting rights restored and there are many. We march and petition and do much to change this but to no avail. We have an F in election security.
We are breathing air and drink water that those in power have decided to deregulate but still some get on here and heap coals on our head because Rick Scott is Governor. Many are quick to say, “ Let em suffer”. I am tired of it. Many of us are up in age, yet we persist. We resist. Many of us have division in our families and yet we persist. We resist. We work with the Dem parties, we get out the vote, we go to town halls, We bring awareness to many and yet we get ridiculed and no empathy or encouragement at all.
We organize and march and resist and persist. We have had to deal with the Zimmerman’s, the Stand your Ground, Parkland, Orlando Massacre, no Medicaid expansion, gerrymandering, and on and on.
Instead of blaming all of us..get your lucky butts down here and help. Don’t sit in your ivory tower states and blame us for a government we have that we had nothing to do with. We take our very lives in our hands when we just put a bumper sticker on our cars. How dare some of you rail against true progressives and sit back and throw pie at us in posts when all we are doing is trying to reach masses on this site of the situation with hopes people WILL vote against Scott and his corruptive legislatiors. We don’t even know if Scott got in legally..not with that intel memo that came out.
I am here to call out those who despair our efforts and there should be a rule against it, here on Daily Kos. I am angry and tired of the smug comments. I am tired of ignoring it. I guarantee you, we progressives are more tired of this BS going down here than any of you armchair political strategist folks know and obviously don’t care.
Lead, Follow or Get out of the Way but mostly...STFU ! I hope I don’t get banned for this post but I stand up for what I think is right and there has been a lot of wrong by some members blaming Florida on Daily Kos aimed at good people who would love to live in a solid blue state and keep trying despite the ridicule.
