I know a lot of veterans and this one female distinguished vet posted this to me on Facebook and it made me sick. She is so upset over this incident and we just got through messaging and I told her I would tell this story. She encouraged me to do so. Racism lives and is rearing it's head even in California. This is beyond sad. Thanks Trump for dragging the knuckledraggers out from the rocks to root for you
I just had something happen that made me feel so sad. A woman came into my office just a little while ago. She was a 55 year old black woman. She started talking to ...me, then she stopped and asked me if her color bothered me. I asked her why she would say that. She said she had a guy tell her earlier that he wanted to see her hanging from a tree. What is wrong with people? We were talking and she was crying. At first I didn't know if she was crazy or not, but the more she talked, she was just hurting. She left her abusive husband and was trying to clean bathrooms or whatever she could to earn the money to get to her daughter's house. I talked to her for awhile. I gave her a hug and you could tell she really needed it. I told her that my bosses live in out of town, so I couldn't hire her, but I would give her the money. She was offering to give me a promissory note for the money. She was the sweetest lady, gave me a hug and asked me to pray for her before she left. I just don't know how I feel about this. I hate seeing anyone hurting and she was crying, asking what is wrong with her. She was talking about how she's been treated. I tried to tell her that we've all picked the wrong man at one time or another in our lives. I was so mad about the fact that someone in my town told her they wanted to see her hanging from a tree. If anyone on my friends' list thinks that racism doesn't exist anymore, you are out of your minds. I hope with all my heart that this woman gets to her daughter safely and starts to heal her broken heart
It seems to me that the GOP and the HRIC( Head Racist in Charge) Donald Trump is bringing so much hatred to the Black, Hispanic. Muslim community and women of every shade out to show it’s ugly face.
This incident right here ( one of many ) should be enough motivation to Get out and vote. It should make you pause and say as it made this lady vet pause with witnessing this type of racism up close in California. This hatred is not isolated to one geographical area. Do not be fooled. We see it more often in the south but it is out there all over.
Unless you want to roll back the years and pull the scab off the ugly wound of racism and hatred in full swing and legislated into your way of tolerance, then I suggest you run..do not walk to the Voting booth and elect from dogcatcher to President, the tolerant party. Yes, there are racists in the dem party but the tent is big on this side of the aisle and the majority of democratic voters are NOT wearing a hood and Sheet. We are still sane over here on the left for the most part.
Black Lives Matter. Do not think this type of hate in your part of town is not present. It is. It starts with the hatred of anyone who does not look the same, hate the same, talk the same or believe the same. It is Fascism and Racism and evil. VOTE ! VOTE ! VOTE ! Shut them up.. Shut them Down and vote for sanity.
