Jobs...We need to bring those jobs back ! Well oh wise orange one, get a clue. We can’t bring most jobs back because they don’t exist anymore. I know you are stuck in those diapers and mindset of a three year old but little buddy...the milkman does not exist anymore. The iceman does not deliver. The tobacco fields are almost gone… Gone are the cottonfields for the most part and we don’t have all kinds of things that probably intrigued you as a tyke.
I miss the breadman. I miss the service station attendant. I sometimes miss the old cassette players and recorders. We have technology now. We have things your brain has not accepted as the present and not the future.
I can just see any past president standing on a podium and screaming… “ We are going to bring back all the jobs”. That would include the blacksmith for the horse and buggies. That would also include ( depending on what era) the ice man, the wagon wheel repair, the cotton fields and moving up a little further tons of jobs as life progressed. We don’t make vinyl records, cassette tapes, nor do we depend on telephone operators, pbx operators, thousands of people who worked and technology did away with their jobs whether it was robotic or replaced with fewer people to maintain. We don’t have a general store or a feed store on the corner and even farming has been automated since well before the early eighties. The cars and vehicles are so very dependent on computer brains and you think you can bring all of those things back. Really? What is amazing is how many old timers think that too. Some young people know that technology is the source of job creation but honestly believe we have enough science here and now to take on the new world of now. We don’t. China and Japan and countless other countries have been going solar along with high speed rail and infrastructure while the USA keeps cranking up wars and missle defense systems along with ignoring roads and up to date transport and research. Why? We have folks like Info Wars who you subscribe to, thinking the earth is flat an Wally and the Beave
had it made and there is still room for Make Room for Daddy and Father Knows Best. We have evolved. In the natural course of things, people invent, progress and do not want to move backwards. We could have many many jobs, but not the kind you and most republicans even think about. We could have research galore, better rail and new technology, maybe even flying cars. We could have all things green and more productive and healthier for mankind and it does not revolve around oil and fracking.
Ties, clothes, shoes, all of the things you want to bring back to America, you are not willing to pay Americans to do the job. Can’t have it both ways We could bring jobs here with high speed rail, new infrastructure, more researched technology…. ( uh Silicon Valley knows this) and living wages with good healthcare to care for the employees) but depending on a 20.00 tie that no one wears anymore and paying that worker only 8 bucks an hour won’t cut it especially when they have to miss a lot of days due to illness.
The jobs you want to bring back to America had to move on and out of here because the world evolved into another place and time. We no longer wait for a telegram. We have instagram and messenger and I phones. Someone needs to sit you down and explain the world around you is more complicated and diverse than country clubs with the BEST ever golf played, high rise hotels and casinos. Someone needs to tell you not everyone is a gambler, stock holder or war monger. People want jobs. They also want benefits. They could also use some respect and encouragment but your small view of this world does not even begin to solve the jobs problem when all you can see is a Golf green, a penthouse and depend on other people who know about passwords, computers, dot.com’s and how we have been left behind. Someone really needs to talk to you about more than manners. It is not just manners and incompetence , you are stuck. You are stuck in a time and place that no longer exists.
Someone needs to tell you about these jobs that do not exist anymore. Guess what? They ain’t coming back. They can’t. Who in the Hell churns butter anymore?
