Should the president elect have vocabulary skills? You bet ! George W. Bush may have scrambled up sentences and put food on his family instead of his table but Donald J Trump does not seem to
be able to have much more than 140 words in his vocabulary unless laced with profanity. I always heard profanity gives punch. I think in Trump’s case, it is more of a filler for a vocabulary void.
The words he will use at almost every setting whereas he has to address the public are the words he loves to use and listed below.
Beautiful, wonderful, amazing, bigly, yuge and just words one would express in conversation regarding no more vocabulary use than a child asking for a cookie. In other words, he has a vocabulary that has not appeared to have evolved higher than the 4th grade. He seems comfortable with because and you know, and Well, and we, and Trust Me, but words that require a deep meaning seem to escape him.
Have you ever heard him use words like embellish or volatile, or exceedingly, or perpetual, just simple descriptive words? Descriptive sentences such as “ pleasing the senses or mind aesthetically.” seem to be over his grade level.
How about this one...would it throw him?….pre·pos·sess·ing.
We should demand to see his educational transcripts. Keep in mind, while he was negotiating business deals, he more than likely had a spokesperson or translator. Deals would have not gone through had he been the one speaking. He does not possess or has not shown to possess the ability to receive or understand BIG words. This is one of the reason he doesn’t like journalists. They know complex words with all types of meanings germane to the situation. He doesn’t have a clue. I bet Sarah Palin even throws him.
It’s obvious that Trump’s verbal deficit, as grating as it may be on the ears of the educated class, has not caused him much political pain. The media has noted the opposite: Trump’s overreliance on sports and war metaphors in his public utterances, his reductionist, one-dimensional policy prescriptions—including nuanced geopolitical arguments such as get tough with China and Mexico, which are killing us!—inspire trust in many rather than distrust. Trump’s rejection of “convoluted nuance” and “politically correct norms,” mark him as authentic in certain corners and advance his cred as a plainspoken guardian of the American way. By not conforming to the standard oratorical style, he distinguishes himself from the pompous politician. Less is more when you’re speaking Trumpspeak.
Trumpspeak is something I refuse for my daughter to engage in. We must not let this man take us back in words even if he is trying in action to, “ Woman, get supper”. “ Maid, “ Need water. Fetch”
Me Great.. You Less…..OMG we have reverted to Tarzan talk.
