How long before we hear the N word come from this crazy man or his minions’ mouth?  5.4. 3. 2

Thugs…..All black and people of minority are thugs...This is the GOP of 2017.   I guess that plate in Congressman Lewis’s head came from watching TV and falling out of his recliner.  Come on Donald tell us again why you couldn’t go to the military and how much have you ever fought for?   Oh I guess he got writers cramp from all the (c”s) put on rental application to deny equal housing.

By the way..the GOP wants silencers put back on Guns.. without cost and claim it is a healthcare precaution for the ears ..but that is for another diary.

But the 1934 restriction is for  another diary..We have enough right here on this.

For the record:  John Lewis’s district is a very successful district.   Donald J Trump again proves himself a liar.   I am truly surprised he does not have white and colored sections set up for his inauguration.

The Democrat’s district includes parts of Fulton, DeKalb and Clayton counties – and most of the city of Atlanta – as well as Brookhaven, College Park, Decatur and Morrow. The district has several of Atlanta’s most prominent gems, including Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the King Center and the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

And it has the bulk of Georgia’s higher education institutions: Emory University, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Georgia Tech and Georgia State University are all in the 5th Congressional District. It is also where many of the state’s Fortune 500 companies are based, including Coca Cola Co., Southern Co. and Delta Air Lines.

It is also one of the most diverse districts in the South. Census data show it is about 58 percent black and 33 percent white, along with a growing Hispanic population. The district has an 8.2 percent unemployment rate – above a national jobless rate that hovers below 5 percent – and the median household income for residents is about $48,000.

John Lewis - March from Selma to Montgomery, "Bloody Sunday," 1965

In 1965, at the height of the modern civil rights movement, activists organized a march for voting rights, from Selma, Alabama, to Montgomery, the state capital. On March 7, some 600 people assembled at a downtown church, knelt briefly in prayer, and began walking silently, two-by-two through the city streets.

With Hosea Williams of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) leading the demonstration, and John Lewis, Chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), at his side, the marchers were stopped as they were leaving Selma, at the end of the Edmund Pettus Bridge, by some 150 Alabama state troopers, sheriff ’s deputies, and possemen, who ordered the demonstrators to disperse.

One minute and five seconds after a two-minute warning was announced, the troops advanced, wielding clubs, bullwhips, and tear gas. John Lewis, who suffered a skull fracture, was one of fifty-eight people treated for injuries at the local hospital. The day is remembered in history as “Bloody Sunday.” Less than one week later, Lewis recounted the attack on the marchers during a Federal hearing at which the demonstrators sought protection for a full-scale march to Montgomery. A transcript of his testimony is presented in the following pages.
