Defunding PP? We should make Viagra an issue

Viagra is a choice for male enhancement to perform.  Not our problem.  You got limp sausage, too bad.  When government decides to get involved in a women’s healthcare , then that  priority should apply to the menfolk who need a little help to perform.

I am not trying to make things harder ( pardon the pun) on people who want a life that is healthy and fulfilling.  My point is that this one sided thing with the interference from the government, should not be taking place for women or men.

They need to keep their cherry picked priorities off women’s healthcare.

The interference of government and doctor should not happen but it is different with menfolk.

Take away birth control, then we should make Viagra and other male’s little friend an issue.   Since when is it OK to say keep your legs together if you are a woman but a man can pop a pill and make things function.   Oh no.   We should have Viagra as a talking point every time the republicans bring up birth control issues.

The ‘little blue pill’ is the most popular drug for erection issues but it can be costly. Each pill runs about $10 each depending on where it’s purchased, so for many seniors it would nice if the medication was covered by Medicare or Medicaid.  The kicker is the federal government made a rule in 2007 that keeps loss of erections sexual dysfunction drugs from being covered.  While that rule is typically enforced, a new study shows some patients did get the government to chip in for their Viagra.

In a government study more than $3 million dollars went towards the purchases of Viagra. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) said the slip ups were not intentional and they will look into recovering their money through insurance companies.

There are ways around getting ED performance drugs prescribed and out of our pockets.  A doctor need only to say Viagra or another drug of this sort helps the patient with hypertension.   Hmmm….  sounds like a double standard to me.

Women who need birth control need it for many reasons other than birth control.

This also applies to women other than those who served in the military.

Women can get birth control, mammograms ,etc but only the VA provides these services.   Do you think this will exist if they privatize the VA?

Primary Care

www.va.gov/...

General care includes health evaluation and counseling, disease prevention, nutrition counseling, weight control, smoking cessation, and substance abuse counseling and treatment as well as gender-specific primary care, e.g., cervical cancer screens (Pap smears), breast cancer screens (mammograms), birth control, preconception counseling, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, menopausal support (hormone replacement therapy).

Mental health includes evaluation and assistance for issues such as depression, mood, and anxiety disorders; intimate partner and domestic violence; sexual trauma; elder abuse or neglect; parenting and anger management; marital, caregiver, or family-related stress; and post-deployment adjustment or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Military Sexual Trauma (MST). Women—and men as well—may experience repeated sexual harassment or sexual assault during their military service. Special services are available to women who have experienced MST. VA provides free, confidential counseling and treatment for mental and physical health conditions related to MST.

Last year the agency spent $71.7 million (almost triple what the VA paid for erectile dysfunction drugs in 2006) on Viagra, Cialis, and similar drugs for veterans who qualify for free or subsidized health care. Sexual difficulties aren’t something “that a lot of veterans would readily talk about,” says Jason Hansman, senior program manager for health and mental health programs at the advocacy group Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. “It’s a very good sign that the VA is paying out and not trying to avoid the issue.”

PTSD is a real issue but I assure you  PTSD does not just affect vets.….Veterans will still be able to get services relating to sexual health but maybe not for long if the VA is privatized.   Planned Parenthood is in the process of being defunded so, this affordable important healthcare will not be available to all.

The Reality of Paying for Viagra if You’re on Medicare For many men, the best strategy for making Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs affordable is to use insurance benefits to cover other costs and free up money that can go toward Viagra. There are Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare Part D plans that offer some coverage for Viagra, but you have to weigh their costs with how much they cover.

Now regarding Planned parenthood….  But it’s being defunded !

Most Planned Parenthood health centers accept Medicaid. And if you sign-up for Medicaid, you can come to Planned Parenthood for birth control, breast and cervical cancer screenings, and well-woman visits -- covered for free, without a copay -- even if Planned Parenthood is not included as an in-network provider in your Medicaid plan.

Additionally, some states offer Medicaid family planning-only coverage in addition to regular Medicaid coverage. It is important to note that this coverage is limited to family planning services like birth control and related services (which you can obtain at Planned Parenthood health centers) and are not comprehensive health plans. To find out if your state offers this coverage, click here.

Planned Parenthood does not cover FREE or Subsidized Tax payer abortions… Got that Republicans !!!!!

It is a talking counterpoint because people depend on their partner to be able to enjoy an active sex life and affects both partners but so does birth control.   Birth control availability and affordable costs are real for most people with two working brain cells.   Before you get all mad at me, I am saying this is inequality in HUGE measures.  The government does not need to be meddling in any of this.. As you see, some will still get government aided Birth control and ED fixes.   This whole thing of defunding women’s health care is just WRONG on every level.
