First of all I am not clairvoyant so this is just a gut feeling and thoughts I have from sheer observations of living in Florida and other deep red states for years and years. My predicitions are as follows: Good luck with that Making America Great again. We will be fortunate to just make America, America again.
Sorry but this is not an optimistic diary.
This year will be a year like few if any have witnessed before. The year 2017 will resemble 1968 but in my opinion, it will be worse. The reason it will be worse is because in the late 60’s no one had tried to push anyone backwards...People had never had the freedoms they are just now beginning to enjoy. People had not obtained voting rights or equal rights until mid sixties so one cannot take away rights as it would be like giving someone legs and then taking them away. The same thing is true for the Pill and Rowe V Wade. This is the America we have become used to.
People in the 60’s were fighting for equal rights, not concerned with climate change, had to stay in the closet and the disabled stayed home unable to have access to many things.
People had problems with alcohol and cigarettes but people unlike today were not obsessed with guns and high powered automatic weapons, not to mention a severe addiction problem with mind alterting drugs as we have on a massive scale. We had one war. Vietnam. We were not fighting people all over the world and making enemies from one end of the globe to the other. We did not have a thirst for fossil fuels and had many jobs. We had the greatest generation that knew how to lead and knew empathy. There was more of a balance in the branches of government and there was no massive income inequality. We never had a maniac at the helm with so many unqualified people in control of this country.
1. America will have massive unrest from the onstart.
2. Freedoms will be eliminated almost from the beginning.
3. People will try to resist and be met with resistance
4. The gas prices will skyrocket
5. The polarazation will become so intense that it will be frightening
6. The Arms race will be on again.
7. Institutions and help from food to medicine will take a harsh hit
8. Homelessness will become very common place
9. The weather patterns will be more intense and uncomfortable
10. The police will become more militarized.
11. There will be the possiblity of future Terror attacks.
12. There will be old stigmas that will resurface.
13. Fear will grip many as things start to unwind.
14. As conservatives push agendas, more and more resistance will intesify
15. America will slide into an era of the Rich and Powerful and average people will feel the need to isolate.
16. The Press will be stifled.
17. The media will be confused
18. Religion will rise to controlling more and more of our government
19. Higher interest rates and inflation will rise
20. More and more incarcerations.
21. Investigations after investigation and no liberal movement.
These are just some of the things and not even the worst I suspect many of us will see come to pass. I hope I am 100 percent wrong. I don’t think so. The next time you think...I wish this year would hurry up and leave…..think again… We are about to enter into some really hard times BUT if we stand strong together… we can fight back but we all won’t see the better times return. We will not recognize America .
These are just some of the things I feel will come to pass.
