Letter: Ted Baxter is funny. Donald Trump isn't.

First things first.  When and how did we all end up on The Mary Tyler Moore Show?  America looks and sounds like it just came out of casting and we got Ted Baxter as the leader of the free world.  The resemblance of attitude and thought and speech is uncanny and soooooooo embarrassing.

I am not the first to notice this… This link is from 2017.  More true today.  You either want to laugh or cry but here we are.  The letter goes like this:

Due to the recent death of Mary Tyler Moore, I have been re-watching episodes of her television show. Within seconds of Ted Baxter (the buffoon anchor man in the series) making his entrance I realized that he and our current president are unfortunately very much alike. It is chilling to think that such a character could actually exist.

Both men are egomaniacs with a know-it-all persona and bad grammar. Neither one has any social graces, and they both think they are loved by all. The stark difference, of course, is one is a fictional character made up from the wild imagination of a comedy writer. The other is our president living in his own fictional world. And never in our own wild imaginations did we think we would have such a leader.

That article that appeared in 2017 by that author just may be the truest article ever written.

It is obvious to me that the voters who voted Trump in never really watched MTM Show or found Ted Baxter, played beautifully by the late Ted Knight as a complete buffoon.

and orange man Trump...The cleanest man God ever created

(sorry for this ugly man’s picture)

CNN —

To say that Donald Trump has said something outrageous – and laughable –

After all, this is a man who wondered whether Ted Cruz’s father was involved in the assassination of John F. Kennedy. A man who has said windmills cause cancer. And a man who suggested the use of disinfectant to combat Covid-19.

So, when I say that Trump said perhaps the most outrageous thing he’s ever uttered over the weekend at a rally in North Carolina, well, that’s saying something.

Without further ado then, let’s get to it.

“I’ve got to be the cleanest, I think I’m the most honest human being, perhaps, that God has ever created,” Trump said.

You can – and should – watch it for yourself here.

Face it folks….Ted Baxter, the fictional anchorman from the 70’s comedy is in control of our nuclear weapons.  Come Monday the world will watch the want a be Ted Baxter get inaugurated….AGAIN.

The only thing is this buffoon won’t be at WJM fictional news station as a comical news anchor but at the US capitol and on to the White House.  That is not funny but very scary,

We all remember adding bleach internally for Covid.  Jeeze..Even Baxter wouldn’t have said that.

Shall we pray.  It appears the majority of Americans have gone mad.
